This vintage silver ring is defined by a bold, sculptural top that rises prominently above the finger. The adornment has an organic, elongated form composed of closely spaced silver bars of varying lengths. Along most of the surface, the bars are supported by a subtle underlying structure that gives the form volume and stability. Toward the front edge, the construction opens up so that only the individual bars remain, each slightly angled upward at the tip, enhancing the sense of movement and lift. The shank is smoothly contoured and open at the back, tapering as it curves upward to support the elevated top.
Worn on the hand, the ring reads as distinctly fashion-forward and architectural, intended for someone who wears sculptural jewelry with natural confidence.
Zaha Hadid was an Iraqi-British architect based in London, internationally known for her fluid, experimental architectural language. She collaborated with Georg Jensen on the Lamellae collection, launched in 2016. The eight-piece collection consists of five rings and three cuff bangles and was inspired by Hadid’s architectural work on the Wangjing SOHO in Beijing. Designed shortly before her passing in March 2016, the collection translates layered, rib-like architectural forms into sculptural jewelry executed in precious metals, reflecting her distinctive approach to movement, structure, and space.
