A pair of antique glasses with frames crafted in 18 karat gold, made in 1833. The lenses are small and oval, set in fine, slender rims that follow a soft, elongated line across the face. The sunglass has a clear blue tint, light yet defined, giving a calm and slightly reflective tone. The bridge is delicate and slightly curved, connecting the lenses with a subtle sense of movement. The side arms are thin and flexible, designed to be gently bent for a secure fit. The ends are flat and softly rounded, resting lightly behind the ears.
The sunglasses come with their original fitted case. The case opens along one side, allowing the glasses to slide in neatly, protecting the frame while keeping a low profile.
The blue lenses are later additions; originally, the glasses held clear lenses. The result is a striking contrast between early 19th-century craftsmanship and a more modern function. Worn, they sit close to the face with a refined, understated presence—somewhere between a historical artifact and a quietly rebellious, John Lennon–style statement.
