A striking vintage necklace in silver and glass, built around a long, weighty chain of rounded oval links that gives the piece both presence and movement. The pendant is formed as a clear, domed glass disc, smooth and luminous, with a sculptural silver motif running across its centre like a spine or totem. One side shows the silver as a textured, organic line rising across the transparent glass; the other reveals the more graphic structure beneath, with broad horizontal elements set against the clear disc.
The chain ends are attached directly into the hanging ring, creating a neat, balanced drop. Bold yet airy, this is the kind of piece that does all the talking ā perfect worn over a simple black dress, a roll neck, or a crisp white shirt. It has that quietly dramatic 1970s studio jewellery feel: a little bohemian, a little sculptural, and entirely its own.
Jacob Hull (d. 1993) was one of the more distinctive voices in Danish studio jewellery. Trained as both a sculptor and jeweller, he became known in the early 1970s when his work was shown internationally and sold through Illums Bolighus, the leading showcase for Danish design. For Buch & Deichmann, Hull created hand-made pieces marked āB+Dā, often larger and more sculptural than traditional jewellery, with rough, organic textures and an almost brutalist feel.
His designs sit somewhere between jewellery and small-scale sculpture: bold, tactile and unmistakably 1970s. Even the more wearable pieces retain that sense of experimentation and individuality for which Hull became known.
