This vintage necklace by Theresia Hvorslev, made in silver in 1999, is built from a sequence of carefully constructed links that create both structure and movement. Each unit consists of two elongated, softly rectangular silver elements that meet in a gentle, curved join, giving the chain a subtle rhythm and a distinctive graphic flow. The links alternate between smooth planes and gentle curves, allowing the necklace to articulate naturally on the body.
The necklace closes by hooking the final link onto a hook shaped in the same language as the links and is secured with an additional safety clasp, integrated discreetly into the design. Its construction allows it to be worn in two ways: as a longer, relaxed necklace or doubled closer to the neck, creating a more defined line.
Worn, it feels balanced and assured, with a quiet strength and an elegant, contemporary presence.
Theresia Hvorslev was a Swedish jewelry designer who began designing and making jewelry as a teenager. During her career, she created pieces for the Swedish company Mema. In 1967, Hvorslev won the jewelry world’s equivalent of the Oscars—the Diamond International Award—for the first time, an honor she would go on to receive three times.
